Ways to Check on the quality of your CBD:
#1. Avoid Amazon
We won’t say that you can’t find any good CBD oil on Amazon, but last time we checked there were over 6000 results for “CBD Oil”.
Do you want to spend the time doing the research on all of them to find a good one? Didn’t think so.
#2 Know the farms and manufacturing.
Every good brand we know of lets you know where their farms are located. You probably can’t find an address, but state, sure.
We are looking for two things. Grown in America, and specifically “Hemp”. Hemp is a specific form of cannabis that is high in CBD and very low in THC, which is what most non-medical users of CBD want.
For manufacturing, see if the company you are considering talks about the extraction method they use. Companies using quality producing methods will advertise this fact… those that aren’t will probably try to hide it.
You are looking for either Alcohol or CO2 based extraction. These methods are more expensive than others, but produce a toxin and heavy metal free CBD product.
If the company does not talk about the farms or manufacturing methods used in the making of their CBD then we recommend you steer clear!
#3. Third Party Verification
Because the FDA is not involved with CBD as of yet, a company could package up some olive oil, slap a fancy label and a big price tag on it, and sell it as CBD.
In fact, out of those 6000 Amazon listings we mentioned, we can almost guarantee a few of them are like this.
There are pyramid sales schemes offering “Free trials of CBD” that have been proven to have extremely low quantities of CBD in their product.
Possibly worse case, the CBD Oil that you buy could be loaded with THC leading to possible loss of job or even arrest in some states.
The only way to know exactly what you are getting is by only buying from companies who make their Third-Party test results easy to find. We’ve left a link in the description to some of our favorite brands that follow both the 2nd and 3rd point we’ve addressed!
#4. Call Them!
The best companies in the world have ways to contact them, and CBD companies are no different.
If the brand you’re shopping doesn’t have a way to contact them that is easy to find on their website, we’d steer clear. All of the CBD brands we trust make it very easy to contact people at their company.
This can be a great way to check on farming and manufacturing methods, and quickly locate or get copies of third-party lab tests!
So, in summary: Avoid Amazon, Check on Farming and Manufacturing, Get third-party test results, and Call the company!
