The popularity of CBD oil has been growing across the country. In California, shops across the state are opening up and asking people to try what some people think is a very potent medicine. BareCbd recently opened in Yucaipa and the owner, like many others, thinks of it as a revolutionary medicine.
CBD stands for cannabinol. It is one of the most common active ingredients of cannabis. CBD, derived from the hemp plant, is a cousin of the marijuana plant, but don’t expect to get a high from CBD oil.
According to the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential … To date, there is no evidence of public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
CBD users claim many health benefits of using the oils, and to a certain extent, they may be right. Although many more studies will be needed to determine the effectiveness of CBD, BareCbd owner Ray Rashid said there is some evidence for the oil’s effectiveness in treating many medical conditions.
CBD may be able to treat anxiety, and bouts of insomnia. Additional studies suggest that CBD may help insomniacs not only with falling asleep but also with staying asleep longer. Also, CBD studies have found that applying CBD to the skin could help treat pain and inflammation caused by arthritis.
BareCbd offers a variety of products from tinctures, topicals, edibles, and drinks, to bath bombs, skincare, and CBD soaps. There is even a section dedicated to the health of family pets.
“We have 40 different products,” said Rashid. “We try to limit the quantity to make the experience simplified for the customer, so they don’t have so much to choose from that they get overwhelmed. Also, we have education posters throughout our store that gives you the main details of what CBD can do for you, what is CBD, and where is it coming from.”
The store is well lit, upscale, and has a shopper-friendly atmosphere with a pleasant and knowledgeable staff.
“Every product I have has a QR code attached to it that is attached to a federally recognized lab report that the customer has access to that I have no play in,” said Rashid. “It will tell you that the exact amount of CBD you are purchasing is the exact amount in that bottle. It allows us to create transparency between all of our customers to avoid the confusion of going to a smoke shop or a vape shop … We want to take that and provide the most comfortable state for our customers.”
Although it is too early to know what the benefits of CBD may be, there certainly seem to be some very legitimate studies to support many of the claims made about CBD. If you decide to try it for yourself, always check with your doctor to be sure it won’t interfere with any medications you currently take.
